JOINT PLUS FACTS
Joint Plus, with Hyalronic Acid is a multifaceted joint supplement which helps relieve
most types of arthritic pain. Contains Glucosamine, Ginger Extract, MSM and other pain relieving elements.
Hyaluronic acid is a natural substance found in great abundance in young skin, synovial fluid and other tissues in humans and animals. Over time, oxy radicals, produced mostly through exposure to pollutants and sunlight, degrade and destroy hyaluronic acid. Fifty-year-olds are estimated to have less than half the hyaluronic acid they had in youth.
Our joints (e.g. elbows and knees) are surrounded by a membrane called the synovial membrane, which forms a capsule around the ends of the bones. This membrane secretes a liquid called the synovial fluid. Synovial fluid found in joint cavities serves as a lubricant, shock absorber and a nutrient carrier. Hyaluronic acid is a key component of cartilage. Cartilage is immersed in the synovial fluid and is a fibrous connective tissue.
Contains Glucosamine, MSM (Methyl Sulfonyl Methane) , Ginger Extract, Boswellia Serrata Extract, Silicia, Hyaluronic Acid.
MSM is often referred to as a "penetrant." It makes the walls of individual cells more "permeable." This means that the cells can more easily get rid of garbage that is constantly being created inside the cell, and the cell can also absorb nutrients more easily. MSM (the abbreviation for methyl-sulfonyl-methane) is a special biological sulfur found in all living things.
The benefits of Glucosamine are well known. Glucosamine supplements are widely used for osteoarthritis, particularly knee osteoarthritis. In osteoarthritis, cartilage -- the rubbery material that cushions joints -- becomes stiff and loses its elasticity. This makes the joint prone to damage and may lead to pain, swelling, loss of movement, and further deterioration.
Since the body's natural glucosamine is used to make and repair joint cartilage, taking glucosamine as a nutritional supplement is thought to help repair damaged cartilage by augmenting the body's supply of glucosamine.
There is promising evidence that glucosamine may reduce pain symptoms of knee osteoarthritis and possibly slow the progression of osteoarthritis. For example, a study published in the journal Archives of Internal Medicine examined people with osteoarthritis over three years. Researchers assessed pain and structural improvements seen on x-ray. They gave 202 people with mild to moderate osteoarthritis 1,500 mg of glucosamine sulfate a day or a placebo. At the end of the study, researchers found that glucosamine slowed the progression of knee osteoarthritis compared to the placebo.
If you are a DIABETES sufferer, please consult your physician before taking Joint Plus which contains Glucosamine.
